# Play credits

What play credits are, how to get more and what happens when you run out. They're free, have no cash value and never turn into B3.

Play credits are Basement's free currency for picks and Drops in every game. Your first visit usually comes with 10,000, with no sign-up.

On a busy shared network, such as event Wi-Fi or some mobile networks, a new account starts with 1,000 instead. That happens once 100 accounts have started from the same network within an hour.

## What play credits are

- They're free. There's no way to buy them.
- They can't be withdrawn, sent to another player or swapped for B3. Play credits and B3 are separate balances.
- They work everywhere, including places where real B3 isn't offered.
- Your balance reads **Free** in the top right until your first pick has settled.

Tap your balance to open the **Wallet**. It shows your play credits, when your next daily refill is ready and your current streak.

## How to get more

- Claim your [daily refill](/play/daily-refill) in **Rewards** once a day. It's 1,000 on day one and rises to 4,000 from day seven of a streak.
- [Invite friends](/social/invites). When a friend's first pick settles, you each get 2,000. You can get the bonus for up to 5 friends a day.
- Refunds give back what you spent. A void round refunds every pick and Drop in it, and a Drop that missed the finish comes back at settlement.

Winning picks add to your balance too, but that's never guaranteed.

## When you run out

If your balance can't cover the smallest pick of 10, the stake chips are replaced by your daily refill. The button reads **Claim 1,000 free** (or that day's amount) when it's ready, and **Refill in 6h** or similar until then. The refill resets at 00:00 UTC.

## Your guest account

Your account lives in a cookie in this browser. If you clear your cookies or switch browsers, you start again as a new guest, and the old account can't be recovered.

Signing in, with an email code, a passkey or Google, turns this guest account into your account, so you can pick it up on any device. Your credits and history stay with it. See [Sign in](/b3/sign-in).
