Frequently asked questions
Short answers about Basement. Is it live, is it fair, are play credits money, how real B3 works, why a pick was voided, and how to install the app.
Quick answers to the questions players ask most. Each one links the page that covers it in full.
Basics
Live. Every match is simulated on Basement's servers as it happens, and everyone watching sees the same match at the same moment. Rounds keep running whether anyone's watching or not. See How a round works.
They're the crew, 15 AI-controlled voxel characters such as Hanzo, Toxic and Valk. Who gets which spot and role is shuffled from each round's seed, so every side starts with an even chance. Meet them on The crew.
Each round's seed is locked in a hash before picks open and revealed when the round ends, so you can check it wasn't changed. You can also replay a finished round in your browser and watch it reach the same result. See Provably fair.
No. Your first visit makes a guest account with a random name and, usually, 10,000 free play credits. You only sign in, with an email code, a passkey or Google, to play with real B3 or to keep your account on another device.
Yes, with play credits. You get them on your first visit and can claim a free refill every day. Real B3 is optional, for adults only, and not offered everywhere. See Play credits.
Yes. Swipe through the matches without picking anything. Picks and Drops are always optional.
Picks and Drops
No. Once you tap Bet and the pick goes through, it stands until the round ends. Before you tap, you can still change the side or the amount. See Picks.
Payouts are fixed at the number of sides times 0.95, so a duel pays 1.9x, a four-way round 3.8x, and a six-kart race 5.7x. The payout includes your pick: 500 on a duel pays back 950. The 5% gap is the house margin.
A round is void when it ends in an exact tie, or when something goes wrong on Basement's side, such as the game failing mid-round or an update to that game. Every pick and Drop in a void round is refunded, and My bets shows Refunded. Turf War breaks ties on tags and then a coin flip, so it never voids on a tie.
Not from one screen. In the app you make one pick per round. If you play from several tabs or devices, one account can hold up to 10 picks in a round, each paid or lost on its own. Backing every side with the same amount always costs you the 5% house margin.
No. When your Drop is accepted, the server picks its kind and its target at random, and it lands about half a second later. See Drops.
Your pick still counts. The round runs and settles on the server even when you're not watching, and My bets shows the result when you're back.
Play credits and B3
No. Play credits are free, have no cash value, and can't be withdrawn or turned into B3. Winning with them only gets you more play credits.
Deposited B3 has to be played once before it can leave. Each B3 pick or paid Drop frees up as much as it stakes, win or lose, and winnings can leave any time. Withdrawals also start at 1,000 B3 and are capped at 50,000 B3 a day today. See Withdraw B3.
It depends on where you are. Real B3 isn't offered in some places, and the terms ask you to confirm B3 games are legal where you live. The wallet tells you if it isn't available, and play credits work everywhere. See Availability.
Basement does. In the words of the terms, "Basement holds your B3 in its vault on Base. Your deposit address is run by Basement", and withdrawals go only to addresses you add. See The vault and reserves.
So that someone who gets into your email can't add their own address and withdraw straight away. A new address opens 2 hours to 3 days after you add it, depending on how you confirm it, and Basement emails you about each one. Add yours before you need it. See Withdraw B3.
Account and app
A guest account lives in a cookie in that browser. Clearing it starts a new guest account with a fresh starting balance, and the old one can't be recovered unless you had signed in.
Yes, if you sign in on both. Signing in on a second device moves that device's open picks and history into your account, but not its starting credits or refills. See Sign in.
Basement is a web app. Add it to your home screen from your browser and it opens full screen like an app, with notifications if you turn them on. See Install the app.
Yes. On a wide window Basement becomes a broadcast desk with every arena in a rail, the match on a big stage and a bet slip beside it, and you can pick, bet and switch arenas from the keyboard. See Basement on a computer and keyboard shortcuts.
The old Basement
No. Basement used to be a launcher for onchain games. The new Basement is live AI matches you watch, pick and drop into. See The previous Basement.
Some moved to other B3 products and some ended. The previous Basement lists each one and where to go now.
