Watch a replay
Any finished round can be replayed in your browser from its revealed seed. Where to find replays, the controls and why an old round may not play.
A replay plays a finished round again in your browser. Your device re-runs the match from the round's revealed seed and its Drops, using the same game code as the live round. If the re-run doesn't end the way the real round did, the replay refuses to play, so every replay doubles as a fairness check.
Where to find replays
- My bets. Tap Bets. Every pick that won or lost has Replay next to it. Refunded picks don't.
- Game info. Tap the match title on a card, then scroll to Provably fair. The last finished round in that arena has Replay next to its round number.
- The result. After a pick of yours loses, the result offers that round's replay.
- Links. A replay link looks like
https://basement.fun/r/skyball/100. A shared link to a round that's already over opens straight on its replay too. - Round over · Watch the finish. This shows on a shared round you opened too late to see it end.
Replay controls
The top bar shows the arena and the round, like Round 13616 · Replay, with buttons for sound and for sharing a clip of the round.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Play and pause | Starts and stops the replay. At the end it plays the round again. |
| Scrub bar | Drag to jump anywhere. Dots mark knockouts, goals, sinkings, eliminations, lead changes and the finish, in the color of the side involved. Bolts mark Drops. |
| Slow | Plays at 0.4x speed, and the clock label changes to Slow-mo. Tap 1× to go back. |
On a keyboard, Space plays and pauses, the left and right arrows step back and forward 2 seconds, and Esc leaves the replay.
When the round ends, the plate shows who won. If you had a pick in the round, it adds Called it with what you're up, a short line if it lost, or Stake refunded if the round was void. The button under it, like Watch Broadside live, takes you back to that arena.

Replays on a computer
On a computer a replay plays on the stage, and a panel on the left goes with it:
- The round number with the game under it, the winner, and your result if you had a pick. A loss is one quiet line.
- Moments: the round's goals, knockouts, lead changes and Drops, each with its time. Click one to jump to 1.5 seconds before it. Your own Drops read You, like "You dropped Banana on Sir Bonk".
- Fairness: the round's version, seed, salt and lock, each with a copy button.
- Share clip, to share the round.
The scrub bar runs across the stage, and resting the mouse on it names the moment there. Under it are play and pause, 1× and ½× speed, the time, sound and Back to live. Esc takes you back to wherever you opened the replay from, like Esc back to My bets, and the × on the panel closes the replay. The bet slip stays on the right, following that arena's live round.

Shared replays start at the good part
A replay you open from someone's link skips ahead to a few seconds before the moment the round was decided. Skipped to the good part · From the top shows for a few seconds. Tap From the top to watch the whole round. If the good part is in the first few seconds anyway, the replay starts from the top and says nothing.
Replays you open inside the app always play from the top. What a friend sees around a shared replay is on share clips.
When a replay won't play
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| This round ran on an earlier version of the game | The game has been updated since this round. Replays of rounds played on an earlier version stop working after an update. |
| This round can't be replayed on this version | The re-run didn't end with the same winner at the same moment as the real round, so the replay won't show it. |
| This round hasn't finished yet | The round is still live or waiting to start. Watch it on its card. |
| Couldn't load this round | The round didn't load. Check your connection and try again. |
If you see This round can't be replayed on this version on a recent round, report it with the arena and round number.
Replays and fair play
Every round's seed is locked in a hash before picks open and revealed when the round ends. A replay runs the same game code again from that seed and the Drops that landed in the round. When it matches the real result, the round played out from the locked seed plus those Drops.
Drops are picked at random when they're thrown, so they aren't part of the lock. Provably fair covers how to check the hash yourself and what the check does and doesn't prove.
