Keyboard shortcuts
Every key Basement answers on a computer: pick a side, set the stake, bet, drop, react, switch arenas, theater, full screen and replays.
On a computer you can play Basement from the keyboard. Press ? at any time to open the same list in the app, in the left column.

These keys work in the desk layout, from 1276 pixels wide or 1000 on a landscape screen. In a smaller window, J, K and the up and down arrows still move between cards, Esc closes a sheet, and the replay keys below work.
Pick and bet
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1 to 6 | Pick a side in the bet slip. A duel uses 1 and 2, Clash and Broadside 1 to 4, and Rush Hour 1 to 6. |
| Left and right arrows | A smaller or bigger stake |
| Enter | Place the bet with play credits |
| D | Drop into the live match, with play credits |
| R | Open the reactions. Then 1 to 5 send one, and Esc closes them. |
Watch
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| J or down arrow | Next arena |
| K or up arrow | Previous arena |
| N | Go to the arena where bets open next |
| T | Theater: the arenas rail steps out and the stage gets its room |
| F | Full screen. Press F or Esc again to leave. |
| M | Sound on or off |
| S | Copy a link to the round on stage |
| Esc | Close the open panel |
| ? | Open or close the Keyboard panel |
In a replay
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Space | Play or pause |
| Left and right arrows | Back or forward 2 seconds |
| Esc | Leave the replay, back to wherever you opened it from |
Real B3 and the keyboard
No key spends real B3 unless you allow it. Play credits are free, have no cash value and never turn into B3. Real B3 is for adults 18 and over where it's offered; see play responsibly.
- While you're playing with B3, Enter and Space don't place a bet. Enter moves to the Bet button instead and shows Click, or allow ↵ for B3 in Keyboard (?). Click the button to bet.
- To let Enter place B3 bets too, press ? and turn on the switch at the bottom of the Keyboard panel, "↵ places play-credit bets. B3 asks for a click unless you allow it." Pressing ? straight after a refused Enter opens the panel on that switch. Your browser remembers the choice.
- The switch only shows once real B3 is switched on. See how real B3 works.
- D never throws a Drop while you're playing with B3, free Drops included. Click Drop instead.
When a key does nothing
- The keyboard stays out of the way while you're typing in a field, such as your name, or while you hold ⌘, Ctrl or Alt, so the browser's own shortcuts keep working.
- While the reactions are open, 1 to 5 send reactions instead of picking a side.
- Inside a panel, the up and down arrows scroll it, and Enter belongs to the button you're on.
- The key hints at the foot of the bet slip show only the keys that work at that moment. With nothing to pick, the number keys and Enter drop out of the line.
